It's the lack of faith in the Christian
the money paid to the politician
It's the uncertainty of the charlatan
Some things go unsaid
It's the love you feel for the unattainable
It's the joke you find in the funeral
And the sympathy for the criminal
Some things go unsaid
It was the fear of death in the martyred priest
The third world poverty at the first world feast
The shortcomings of the now deceased
Some things go unsaid
The taste it left when you wished you stayed
The regret for the one that got away
It's the truth when you say that 'everything is okay'
Some things go unsaid
It's the war crimes against the prisoner
The poverty of the pensioner
The wed locked acts of the abuser
Some things go unsaid
It's the doubt you have in the one you hold
The dreams you had as a ten year old
And the light that vanished with those dreams you sold
Some things go unsaid
It's the percentage skimmed from the charity
It's the unpaid taxes of the company
It's the concerns of the majority
Some things go unsaid
It's the secret that your lover kept
It's the apology you didn't get
And the shame you felt the day you left
Some things go unsaid
It's the fear of hell in the atheist
And the silent prayers of the scientist
Its the apathy of the Journalist
Some things go unsaid
It's a thank you for not walking away
It's the words 'I love you' everyday
And it always seems to be sorry that we forget to say
It always seems to be sorry that goes unsaid
And if only there was a way
And if only there was a way to say what is left unsaid... oh wait... there is! And this poem is definitely one of those ways.
And a far more useful way to charge our thought-filled days! Thanks for sharing.
here is poetry that doesn't always conform
