When I was young
My dad told me of a man
A man who was strong and brave
Who served his country land
That man had a wife
And a child on the way
But he never made it home
Dad said he was MIA
That man saved many lives
And the people he saved are still around
They thanked him for his service
Even though he was never found
he was given a folded flag
Trumpets sang him a song so sad
His wife never saw him again
And his son grew up without a dad
His comrades bowed their heads
And saluted their dear friend
Everyone wishing that some day
They can all see him again
I asked my dad how he knew this man
And he said me
"Because, that man, made sure
I got home and back to safety."
