I'm writing stranger friend,
a poem you can relate;
A very simple note
that you can understand;
I wish, this crazy world,
express the same language;
Alas, that wasn't true
so here I write my thanks.
This one sincere message,
I hope you can translate,
To relay I admire
your zeal in clashing wits;
You are an amateur,
I dream I could become;
A genuine friend amidst,
a world of serious men.
Because in chess circle,
I'm but a weaker force;
A striving female face,
without an expertise;
I wanted most of all,
to shout my gratefulness;
Like writing every word
within our last game box.
But google might just mess
its simple translation;
It butchered French you wrote,
my English attempts too;
I never would have thought
you went out further like,
translating all my talks
to figure out my words.
How so very sweet!
He went to so much trouble for you. That impressed me. I sure hope you shared this poem with him so he could in turn translate it into french to read. See how the will was there even when the way was semi blocked. A beautiful dedication you penned for a lovely moment shared I am sure. Thank you so much for sharing this with us and then better explaining the inspiration behind it in your author's notes. Sincerely, Melissa Lundeen.
Thanks Melissa! I am owed
Thanks Melissa! I am owed that such great poetress like you and Poppy took pains in reading my random thoughts. I sure will share this to him. I can't believe he started another game I will surely lose again. He likes translating maybe, LOL. Didn't ask for a rematch this time. He said he wanted me to improve my game so he wants to play me again. Really funny. He already gained like 38 points off me ( 19 per game) from my rating.
I appreciate you dropping by. Thank you
Sincerely,
Shye
