My heart lifted when you sang the sweet words
That brought my soul to life again.
Like a forbidden Romeo,
To a curious Juliet.
Like a princess at the ball,
Staring upon a mysterious man in the corner...
I ran away in the first place,
Because my heart could not take this...
I felt fond of you,
And look at where it leads me.
Forbidden is it... to think of you
Forbidden is it... to merely see you.
This is why I tried to push you,
To the back of my mind---
Yet unsuccessfully...
Here you emerge,
A beautious wildflower in bloom.
How I wish to pick you from the field,
And keep you close.
But nonsense I speak,
Like dwindling words on a droplet of rain down a windowpane
I am driven mad with this. . .
But what of life?
What of living and breathing?
It may be all smothered...
As my heart sinks down to my chair, again.
I am destined to be alone.
