Stars: Thy Painter is Woman (Elegy)

Folder:
Random Thoughts

When the wildflowers sway gently in the breeze,

I will sense your presence and know you are here.

And when the sun dips to the water to take a lazy sip,

I will bask in its sweet warmth feeling you near.

When the planets allign in the soft mosaic of sky,

Shooting stars fall from my eyes.

The reds and blues glittering and flickering by,

Will capture me in a moment's surprise.

I lay at night in the crisp newly washed sheets,

Your scent fades away and I am alone.

I raise my paintbrush to the sky to see,

If I can finish my masterpiece composed for you.

My void is like a deep, dark, empty hole--

So I will dip my brush in black,

And make a swirl of darkness unfold.

And I will show the sky can cry,

By making tears--

The stars streak by.

The stars burn out, lifeless they become,

But that will not resemble our love--

But the darkness that took you away.

So far, far away from me.
