October rain falls down-
I can feel the moisture through the window
But on my resting place-
I lay still, staring at the clouds rolling by with a sense of mediocrity
Yet with a certain radiating beauty
Although the sun cannot peak through.
Upon my breast, you lay
Your chest rising and falling-
In tune with the constant patter
Of the misty rain, this day.
A chill attempts to run up my spine-
But the constant warmth you possess
Holds me close and tame to the warmth.
Dreaming in a different world that is not our own,
You are visiting.
In all reality, I watch you curl up closer to my body
And try to take me with you
Past the day and beyond the nights
Into a peace only induced by sleep.
I shift-
Your eyes flutter, awake.
Where have you been, my love?
I've been waiting
And watching your ever-present beauty.
You hold me softly,
And nuzzle your nose against my neck.
We'll conquer this rainy day together...
Even if it is in the land of our dreams.
