PostPoems Be Artistic. Be Creative. Be Inspired!

So now I am learning how to write, but before I did this task, I first had to ask myself if I can really write,or perhaps I just fancy myself to be a writer. Just because I posted some poems with some nice critiques, can make me believe in myself that I can embark in this more complex, demanding and self absorbing hobby or job?. They say writing is like singing, you have to develop your own style and keep your audience and reader's interested, for them to come back for more. So if you want to know if you can write? Simple, if you have ever been told that you can. Of course our dear parents who are in love with us from birth, will have to be exempted from comments.



Having been told by at least two poets in this web that I can probably start writing a book or anything that catches my interest, then I am a bit confident of what I'm doing.They say to start by having my computer, I will have to put a check on that, then build up my portfolio, and though I don't have an impressive one, at least I have one, a dictionary, grammar books, books on writing principles,style manuals, a Thesaurus, and a reverse dictionary..Wow



Now what can I write about, I will probably have to divide that into the fiction and the non fiction..Fiction,will have the short stories, novels and of course the poems.Non fiction on the other hand will have the magazine articles,brochures, flyers, newsletters,web sites, catalogues,speeches,resumes and etcetera, etcetera and etcetera.



I am suppose to develop my own style. Now if Agatha Christie is known for her mystery, and Mark twain for his humor, I can honestly say I can't beat that.So guess I'll stick to my simple, straight to the point and concise way of writing.I would like my grandkids to understand my work, so no fancy words for me,no use for my reader's to be browsing back and forth for the Dictionary just to know what I'm talking about.



Having said all of these, and they say don't make your reader's yawn,I am embarking on another passion of mine and if no one ever reads them at all, It's still okay, cuz I am writing not only for you but also for my soul and to fulfill a long time dream...
