to travel in this vast and chaotic world
it gives me the chill and the fear, feeling
some thrill, and a bit of despair
i arrive at the airport, in an ungodly hour
when all has left, no one is in sight
then you follow the arrows, the signs and the
markers, only to end up in a dark, scary
hallway.
then i hear a lot of voices,in languages i can't
deciphere, but everywhere i look no one is there
so i continue to follow and saw a standing shadow
i sighed with great relief for there is someone there
and hurriedly i walked faster so i can talk to the lady
only to be confronted with a pale of water and right
beside it, is a standing mop with loosely tangled bunch
that looked like a long flowing hair
i could not help but smile, a little prayer on my lips
Oh! Lord next time i travel, let me hold on to someone
a lover or a friend, it really does not matter
so mops with loosely tangled bunch
is not mistaken for a lady!!!
I am in love with your work! LOL An airport is pretty spooky when there is no one around and as busy as our every day lives are, even in travel it does happen. The last time I picked my daughter up from the airport a prime example. A very late night flight.
Your work appears to be what I set my goals for my own work to be. You reach and find a heart and hold on tight.
Your experiences just may help someone else on their journey. Simplicity in poetry is a WONDERFUL thing. You can easily find the person that is sitting behind the keys writing the words. You close their page and know exactly what they have said to you.
I will for sure be paying you more visits as time allows me. Till then take care of you.
Blessings,
Lesa
I can relate to this......I too have been in an airport at those ungodly hours.
