Please give me a chance to prove

And I'll make it up to you

That loving feeling only two can share

When they show one another they care.

We've both been hurt in the past,

But if given the chance, it could last.

My love for you has grown stronger

As each day passes by;

But I'm confused about how you feel

Then I become afraid to tell you

That what I feel is so very real.

When we look into each other's face,

I wonder if you see me as a disgrace,

A loser, a failure, or all three-

I really wonder how do you think of me?

Are you afraid to love again

Only to end up losing everything,

     Maybe even in debt?

I was afraid to take the chance

But I fell in love quite by circumstance.

I never meant for it to happen either

But it crept up on me like a tiger.

If we just let our feelings show

And forget how we've been hurt before,

Maybe in time,

Together a love would grow.
