As we lay in bed last night making love,

I never felt so much before with anyone.

We never spoke a word, it was all right there,

The warmth inside us flamed and circled everywhere.

Now you're gone and I'm all alone

Just lying here,

Waiting for the moment

When I'll feel you near.

I never asked if you'd come back,

I was just too damn proud,

I just smiled and touched your hair

As you walked out.

If I never have another love,

At least I had last night.

Now I know how the feelings grow,

Cause you made me come alive.

True love doesn't happen every day,

And I think of all those years I threw away.

The days will become so long

As I wait for you to call,

And I hear your deep voice

Saying you're coming home.
