The Cumnock poem,
Is about to begin
So open your minds,
And let the experience in
What a team we had this year
One to make god proud
We welcomed in the children
And entertained the crowd
Playing board games and cards
Is what we liked to do
With action packed hall games
Football and dodge-ball too
Now not all hung on playing
There was plenty work around
Like preparing for mealtimes
And odd jobs abound
With elbows on the tables
Forfeits could appear
That’s more than the sweets
Could say, they would disappear
What does this mean?
A kidnapper you say
The sweets they were captured
But could the ransom pay?
The leaders weren’t for giving in
So on the torture went
An escape plan was formed
And plenty letters sent
What could be worse than this
I hear the audience ask
Spam at every mealtime
Not a pleasant task
This meat appeared on Tuesday
And wouldn’t go away
Till in the bin it went
It just couldn’t stay
Now onto teatime forfeits
Ballet dancing was a treat
With Iain and Phil the best
The laughter was just so sweet
On his little visit
BSBG could be found
Drying people’s hair
Our new hairdresser he should be crowned
Within the team was madness
At the manse as well as the hall
With boys downstairs and girls up
Pranks were played on all
Red light bulbs passed between floors
And doors tied together
Hiding the girls sleeping bags
Really wasn’t clever
A concert on Saturday
Was made to end the week
With poems, songs and dancing
And a panto that wasn’t bleak
The panto we just wung it
Making it up as we went along
Entertaining the helpers
That made us feel we belong
So a week of summer mission madness
Was surely had by all
We kept on going through it
And kept our heads up tall
Helping the kids in their search for god
And strengthening our own
Time and effort was taken
And friendship and love was shown
Ha ha! Wonderful!
Wonderful! We are so alike! ;) wondrous write! Related and loved it! Magnificent story telling with a lovely lilt! :D
