I watch as your eyes slowly corrode in an amber fire.
They plead for justice, and beg for answers.
Burn. Burn. Burn. Oh how they burn.
Engulfing everything you once knew,
Setting ablaze to your heart like wildfire.
And leaving it in bits and pieces of ember.
But I know the feeling, I know the pain.
Of a heart dealt wrong, of a heart left behind,
For the flames to catch.
And I’ve seen the match lit, the match thrown.
And how all it left were ashes and memories.
The hurt you feel, I’ve felt it too.
The lies you’ve been told, I’ve been told too.
The misery you’re in, I’ve been in too.
But I can put out the fire.
And wash away the soot and remains.
Leaving in its place a brand new start.
If only you’ll take my hand.
We can clear this land of the asphyxiating smoke.
And if only you’ll take my hand.
We can let the rain begin to pour.
Please, take my hand.
