Nothing makes it easier
to distract the pain
from your eyes
except knowing
where a truth resides
Nothing makes it easier
for your heart
to breathe life
except living
and riding a horse that runs
from tears to laughs
from loss to gain
Nothing makes it easier for me
to say "I miss you"
except telling me the same
with no words
Nothing makes it easier for people
to stop the shedding of sighs
except a country that hugs them
with love...
Author's Notes/Comments:
On February 14th, 2005, a disaster happened in a small country called Lebanon. Mr. Rafik Hariri, the ex-Prime Minister and the man who was responsible for the country's recovery, was assassinated. February 14th is also marked for Valentine's Day. When a person is already struggling with his own losses and gets surprised with a disaster like that, every feeling is triggered endlessly in all directions. Your personal thoughts become a property to everything around you, and your country awakes you to an inherent truth, that it is the most precious thing inside.
This was very deep. It touched my heart and made me think about this country I live in. We take for granted that we have so much freedom.
