Old habits dying hard
We call it
Stankin' Thankin'
I was always taught
That I must guard my
Every thought
Yes, my thoughts alone
Without deeds - may bring
About my own demise
For a thought is like a
Pebble thrown into a body
Of water causing ripples
For many a times we fail
To remember - that a thought
Is only pure/impure as we allow
It to be, and remains so - as
Long as we allow it to be
Negative thoughts bring about
Negative feedback and
Negative endings
Positive thoughts bring about
Positive feedback and
Positive endings
Our Higher Power, is oft forgiving
Most merciful - it is we who aren't
Our Higher Power, says once fallen
Get up - it is we who stay in a stew
About just how far we have fallen
Our Higher Power, says don't worry
Be happy...let me lead the way
Though it is our Stankin' Thankin'
That won't let go - therefor we
never relinquish ownership of this shit
So you see - Stankin' Thankin'
Brings about Stankin' results
In it's own Stankin' way
Giving oft to Stankin' endings
The Mind - a terrible thing to
Waste - yet, be well aware
Of what you fill it with
Guarding against Stankin' Thankin'
Is not an easy task, but practice
Breeds repetition - and repetition
Breeds perfection
While some chant mantras
Others recite rosaries
I chose to meditate - but all
In all, it is self-discipline
That allows either one to work
This discipline is revered as repentance
It is oft said - he who repents shall
Be forgiven...All praises Be...
Many say they hate the Devil
But the Devil is one of God's
Best servants - he is on point
24 / 7 making sure your
Thankin' stay Stankin'
Now, when I clicked on this one I did so because I was fondly thinkin of my Stankin Lincolns, I have a collection of 4 (1 Runs) When I arrived and beheld this joyous delight of knowledge and advice I was happily surprised, yet, not surprised, as this is how you always come :-)
