Love's Contract

Love's contract

Is never for one another

Simply, you can't

Force two people together.

From the first day on

Knowing we shall be gone

Is sooner to understand

Than we thought we'd disband.

Let not love's contract

Ever again infract

Many times and act

Out Love---whatsoever we lack!

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem came about the day I arrived at an [im-]movable decision  (while tackling love's intricacies, ramifications, and closure).  Thus, it's probably the most solidly composed poem that I've made all of those times (when I made them).
