With swirling colors of sand,
Reflecting in the bright sun,
With gates and soaring towers,
The sand castle stood strong.
The arches and doorways,
Were made with such care.
With banners up high,
Standing proud in the wind.
The waves approached,
And towers and wall fell.
A banner adrift,
An arch to nowhere.
But the castle still stood,
And there was yet hope.
For a bucket of sand,
Was dropped into place.
And a boy and a girl,
Made new arches,
And many new towers,
With fresh banners atop.
And the castle did grow,
Feeling stronger and taller.
For it would last,
As long as they stayed.
No matter the waves,
For they cannot take.
The bucket would last,
The sand would be there.
For the girl and the boy,
To come and to play.
To make their castles,
And laugh in the sun.
There were tears in my eyes as I read it. If I would have tried to speak at that moment, I would have lost all control and sobbed like a baby. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever read, and it was the most beautiful thing ever written for me. I can't believe I inspired that in you. Adam Cotton, you drive me crazier than any man I ever met. I love you. I hate you. I love you. If I could, I'd crawl into bed with you, and sleep forever in your arms. I will love you always, and hopefully someday, we'll build another castle, during a vacation at the beach, that we'll take with our many children.
