At The Church's Postapostolicity
What did the mission churches do,
after the death of Paul?
What did the seven churches do,
after the death of John?---
with all the Apostles, and the whole five hundred, gone?
Despite the world's hostility
(as it was then, so, nearly, now)
Christians continues in the call
to witness and to ministry.
The Gospel did not stumble, swerve, or stall
in carnal offal, nor spoils afoul.
That early Christianity
continued in its supreme vocation
to give all people the proclamation
of Christ's Gospel and sure Salvation.
To praise His Grace, and their faith, I write poetry.
