. . .unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured
the cross, despising the shame, and is set down
at the right hand of the throne of God.
---Hebrews 12:2
But these are written, that ye might believe that
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that
believing ye might have life through his name.
---John 20:31
He suffered torture, death, and burial;
then, He rose from the tomb---not for attention,
nor to disdain the rulers' failed prevention---
but, rather, to assure the faithfilled soul.
The glories of that first, fine Easter morning
are not suppressed by worldly scholars' scorning
(foremost, the so-called Jesus Seminar;
on whose backs blasphemy has traveled far---
and mostly of its member's own suborning).
But those of faith have no more need of mourning.
As Brother John wrote, our eternal life
is present to us now, despite the strife;
ours now, and then in Heaven, for believing
Christ's Word, the comfort that will soothe all grieving.
