Thanks. I find Lenin a very contradictory figure. He appears to have been, personally, a very unpleasant person, very self-righteous, and unwilling to understand any viewpoint but his own. Yet his motive---to end the economic suffering of millions of people---cannot be considered, in general, as negative. But the means he chose to accomplish this---and his belief that what he called State Terror would create rather than destroy support for his program---is incredibly evil. And we were blessed to see his bizarre experiment thwarted and collapsed in our lifetimes. But at the cost of how many lives---tortured or murdered. For me, all of those lives are summed up in the faces of the Czar's four children---innocents who were murdered on Lenin's direct orders.
