At The Observatory: Invocation During Evening Observation

ἕπεσθαι τῷ κοινῷ

---Heraclitus

The point is too sharp---in this time, not blunted:

alone in marriage, silent, and unwanted.

Muse, and the imagination:

turn this tower of observation

to more than astronomy

and away from household perfidy,

to a further destiny,

where and when intersects with epic history

the lyric of Love's poetry---

that intimation

as a terminus of destiny

summoned in a metaphoric invocation.

written on my ephermeral blotter

apart from the stains of spilled tonic water.
