What Lies Beneath

Folder:
Life

her cold hands shake

her body numb

she cant turn back

what she has done

the blood runs down

her tiny arm

on the floor it falls

shes done so much harm

she tried to stop

but the pain was to strong

she knew what she was doing

she knew it was wrong

but the blade felt so good

pressed against her cold skin

so she started to show

how she felt from within

but nobody noticed

no one ever cared

nobody loved her

no one was ever there

this girl was a cheerleader

she was happy all the time

but no one really knew

the things that swam through her mind

she watched the blood fall

as it slid through her finger tips

till she could really feel

that she soon would not exist

her pain slowly fades

as she closes her eyes

she was only 8

but that wasnt her first time

she started to fade

and she fell asleep

this goes to show

that you never really know

what lies beneath a childs thoughts
