A LIGHT IN THE WINDOW
(T. Beechey)
There's a Light in the window of the Cottage on the hill
That's been burning since forever and shall never stop until
All the people come together, united in goodwill
There's a Light in the window of the Cottage on the hill
There's a Light in the window of the Cottage on the hill
And when the people stop and think before they start to kill
Its glow shall finally start to dim...but not one second till
There's a Light in the window of the Cottage on the hill
It's by neither lamp nor candle that the Light beckons forth
Yet to the east and to the west and all point south and north
The beam is shown wherever a threatening hand is raised
Where children cry and visions die in glory's blinding blaze
There's a Light in the window of the Cottage on the hill
That shines for all the ones who are judged not by their skill
But by misconceptions that are spoken sharp and shrill
There's a Light in the window of the Cottage on the hill
There's a Light in the window of the Cottage on the hill
Which illuminates the footsteps that have no shoes to fill
Where hope's just an illusion and luck is next to nil
There's a Light in the window of the Cottage on the hill
Underneath the bridges, in between the buildings where
Tattered souls with shattered roles are often huddled there
The Light can still be captured with no need for sacrifice ---
The Cottage, it is Heaven and the Light is Jesus Christ
There's a Light in the window of the Cottage on the hill
That's been burning since forever and keeps on burning still
Even if there's just one left that shudders from the chill
There's a Light in the window of the Cottage on the hill
Very nice. I like the ending of each sentence.
Always coming back to the light in the window.
nice Enjoyed.
