PERFECT IMPERFECTION
(T. Beechey)
Some folks aren't able to admit mistakes cause they're perfect in every way
So when curtains fall or the dam breaks, all that they do is say
Is "Don't look at me,look at him" then, when everyone turns aside
They walk, run, crawl,or swim to anywhere they can hide
Some folks live in a fantasy where truth does not exist
Their guilt or blame cannot be and always is dismissed
They're right as rain and shall remain above the written law
And anyone who might complain is leading with their jaw
How can they be wrong? Who could find them at fault?
No one can as long there's another to assault
They've always picked innocents to convict of all their lowly schemes
So,in the end, they'll have tricked others to join their dreams
Some folks won't believe that,in fact, they might have erred
And each tangled web they've weaved has themselves ensnared
Till they look into a mirror and no reflection's cast
And their friends who stayed nearer, one by one,are fading fast
But still they won't concede ,they refuse to accept
That,by their own misdeed, all the good was swept
Someone else is the culprit, something else is the cause
They'll never, ever take it since they have no flaws
How can they be wrong? Who could find them at fault?
No one can as long there's another to assault
They twist and turn all they learn into impossible shapes
And that way they can earn a free and clear escape
Some folks never realize what traps they've stepped into
And they don't believe their eyes when they find they've fallen through
They seek to place the blame upon everyone they've known
So unaware the name of the guilty is their own
Some folks can't understand how they ended in that place
Or what caused them to land squarely on their face
As they look around, they find all the fingers pointed back
But,in their twisted minds, another caused the lack
How can they be wrong? Who could find them at fault?
No one can as long there's another to assault
With deceit and lies, they manipulize their shame upon the souls
Of others so they may rise to even darker goals
