NUMBERS

NUMBERS

(T. Beechey)

One day two men

At three o'clock sharp

Paid four dollars each

For a five-string harp

They were Ed and Fred and they were twins

They lived down at the end where the road begins

One day, they went to a baseball game

Between teams I can't even begin to name

Six minutes later

During a seventh-inning stretch

They played "Eight Days A Week"

Which made nine people retch

Both John and George spun in their graves

Paul said to Ringo,"What a way to behave!"

Ringo replied,"I agree,it's so vile!

"Let's call the police!" Answered Paul,"I'll dial!"

Ten seconds passed

Then eleven cops came

And an twelve-man jury

Gave them thirteen years' blame

Now,Ed and Fred sit both holding tin cups

Behind prison walls --- their numbers are up

I want to say WOW!!!! This really creative. It seems all those numbers are conspiring against them; that is, they're counting up to their time in prison!!!!! Great one!!!!
