MOON'S ODE
(T. Beechey)
Men have walked upon your face as you were woven in the fabric of space
Dreamers have worshiped you from afar as you danced amongst each passing star
You radiance cannot be shielded, your illuminance must not be yielded
And amidst your glory I freely bask with but only one favor to ask:
Oh,precious jewel,is an invisible rung the manner in which you are hung
And maintain your loftiness above, all the while showering love?
As I ponder about this celestial orb,I marvel at its might to absorb
All that's within my mortal being,my eyes widen upon the seeing
Of all that exists beneath exposed, carried above the air which flows
And brought in focus on the screen of this infinite nocturnal scene
Astonishment pervades my mind, the words to describe are hard to find
So,silently,I humbly gaze as each strand of effervescence plays
I listen as each chord is struck and the Fingers which were chosen to pluck
Were truly sanctified indeed,oh please don't let the music recede!
To you, countless songs were played even as you majestically swayed
Overlooking Mother Earth,at the same time granting birth
To the rise and fall of ocean tides,no cloud ever entirely hides
The splendor of your lunar soul --- oh precious moon, forever roll
