LISA: AN ODE TO LOST LOVE

LISA: AN ODE TO LOST LOVE

(T. Beechey)

Lord,it's forever since we've spoken! I honestly feel an eternity's gone

Somebody check,my calendar's broken as I can't imagine time has moved on

Leaps and bounds time has taken, impossible strides from then until now

Surely I must have been mistaken,an error in judgment overlooked somehow

Let's not allow so much time to pass

In between moments which we share

Since time, not unlike blades of grass

Always fades within the chilling air

Looks,it's said,can be deceiving;inside my heart,you're still the same

So beautiful and I'm disbelieving any time has either went or came

Life has treated you well,it seems --- if there's any flaws, they're not shown

Steadily holding fast to your dreams, allowing reality no chance to disown

Let's not allow so much distance to grow

In amongst moments reserved for two

Since time, not unlike fresh fallen snow

Always fades within the warming hue

Love shall always exist between us,indifferent of time or uttered vows

Sentiments fall, but that doesn't mean us...after all these years, our bond endows

Luck be with you in your travels ahead,I'll see you again, somehow, somewhere

Soon or perhaps a lifetime instead,at least I'm certain we'll again be a pair

Let's not allow so much time to pass

In the midst of moments that we share

Since time,not unlike polished brass

Always fades within the wafting air
