YESTERTHEN
(T. Beechey)
Somewhere within the roar and flicker
Is a picture depicting the angst of men
Who've exchanged the pen for a sword so wrongly
Yet they belong here in Yesterthen
Somewhere between a scream and a whisper
Is a kiss for memories lost for a yen
To recapture raptures of glories forgotten
Their presence has brought them to Yesterthen
Where roads not taken awaken to travelers
Unraveling their jouneys which yearn for an end
And friends are merely strangers in waiting
Anticipating a road without bend
Somewhere amongst the joy and sorrow
Exists a tomorrow for brethren
Who've aimlessly wandered through blundered beings
Now they're seeing the whole of Yesterthen
Somewhere between the flash and rumble
Are humble reminders of way back when
And,again,I'm thankful for these moments
In the present tense of Yesterthen
