08 Sonnet ~ Ignite Love's Flame In Me. On "Sonnets From The Portuguese."

Ignite Love's Flame In Me; Let It Devour Us.

Walked hand-in-hand; wing-on-wing we soared.

Toward Heaven we were drawn: "Do not resist."

"Is Time our enemy, Love?...", we implored.

"Adored afar we love due Cupid-kissed."

One love; miracle of Life's purest, most.

Sure spark, though small, like bated breath, it craves

what feeds red blood, which by Most Holy saves,

sustains rich hearts, invigorates the rest.

Since being yours I see my mirrored face

reflecting in your eyes; your voice my sigh.

My heart is blushing; it is so adored.

Beyond man's rank your love lifts me, to place

my heart where I could not reach, self-explored.

Hand-in-hand and wing-on-wing we'll fly !
