My Pebbles Into God's Pond

My Pebbles Into God's Pond

{My Seed Sown Into God's Ground}

How comforting, & how safe!

My spiritual self is satisfied!

I hold my life up to the Sun,

each segment of me sliced so thin

that God's Light can shine through it.

God shows me my imperfections.

He reminds of my impurities,

but doesn't condemn, and spurs my conscience;

a simple reminder to be an obedient servant,

sustained and sustaining by His Soul-reminders.

I cannot subdue His strong motivating force

which impels me to do good, seek better, be best.

So simply was it instilled into me, by parents,

by preachers. by loyal friends, ardent teachers.

Now the seed of virtue I'm implanting in our children.

More pebbles, more overlapping rings;

more days, more circles blended, enforcing

the results and impetus of my being and dreams.

My lone pebble, my part with billions dropping

into God's pond, in this world, our temporary home.

Yet when we're gone our pebble-rings reign on!

My pebble-rings will fade away, an echoe lost and gone,

but like seed, planted, released, end-harvest not my own.
