DEDICATION OF RACHAEL S.

Dearest Rachael; the words of your smile...sweet, voiceless;

Sweetest Rachael, the songs in your eyes...bright, soundless;

you have the smile and the eyes of your Mommy's and Daddy's,

and you represent their brightest hopes, for always!

     "God has truly blessed us in Creation!

      Today we celebrate this small, precious blessing

      of new life among us, given by God's grace :

      'Let those children come on here to Me!

      Do not stop them, for of such is Heaven's Kingdom!'

      And He took each one of them up in His arms,

      laid His hands on each one, and blessed them."

God's truest blessing---of ALL His Creation---

is life-in-life: Love's sequence and continuation!

The daily, joyous, never-ending celebration

given to us as new life begins.  Now, this dedication,

our promise and oath to God, to guide Rachael in her life:

      "In obedience to our understanding of the Gospel

      we welcome Rachael, God's gift to the Family of Faith.

      We pledge to support her and her family as they seek

      to provide the loving Godly family He promises to bless.

      As her parents have shared in God's creative power,

      bringing forth Rachael, a beautiful and new life,

      we now pledge our support and love to them,

      as part of God's community of Faith, Hope, and Love."

One life out of two; from two, one life new.

Lives now all together, living life through.

More than three lives now; Rachael, our love is YOU!.

We consecrate you, and we consecrate our own lives,

with more than hope, more than words, but ALL our power,

we will bless God through our devotio0n to you."

      "God, thank You for Your blessings and wonders.

       We will become even as little children, ourselves;

       You have said, if we do not perceive Your Kingdom

       as a little child, we can never enter It.

       We humble ourselves in Your presence, and obey You."

Author's Notes/Comments:

A new baby!  A new Spring! A new inspiration!  The parts in quotations are paraphrased from The Book Of Common Prayer.  They are interspersed within the quatrains & the couplet of a Sonnet-form, almost Shakespearian.
