You Are Too Kind

(three,  strange, triameter Sonnets)

You are too kind!

And too sweet!

Hate not the you I love;

two like-hearts still wait.

Two hearts still beat

in one same vein;

lost aching hearts,

now FOUND! Ne’er LOST again!

“Sorry” is enough:

I know that heart;

& the reason for it

was purely Love.

          Never  a “Good-b’ye”;

          but “God Bless; don’t cry”.

~ ~ ~ ~

Never could I dream

That my heart would find

such  rare jewels

in Earthen clime;

but find them I did

(or they found me!)

& SO changed my life!

& I’ve yet to see her face!

In one single tear

I see imprismed Sun

diffracting joy or sadness?;

the tears don’t CARE!

           TWO, SO VERY SAD;

           TWO, YET VERY GLAD.

~ ~ ~ ~

“Hurting” isn’t pain;

Chagrin d’amore c’est Plaisir!

L'CAmour doit discret;

mots de l'amour sont rares!

Je vous aimerai toujours.

Vous n'avez pas "detruit l'commande";

aimez vous avez simplement

pris o'elle a voulu que vous fussiez!

Toute l'coms aiment doit etre discret.

Je ne du tout regrette rien!

Tout coeur L'Amour que vraiment

ne puevent pas retirer sa passion!

     L'Amour benit ceux qui aiment,

     et L'Amour tous conquiert!

Author's Notes/Comments:

A work-of-love in-progress.  Sonnet. Two semesters of French 45 yrs ago, plus a phrase-book acquired in Tourane in '67, doesn't make my Fr. too good, but maybe it'll work to get me an "A" for the attempt. ("A" is pronounced 'Ahhhhhh'). Lines after "Hurting" translate:
The pain of Love is pleasure!
Love must be discrete;
the words of Love are rare!

I will always love you.
You never "lost control";
Love simply took you
where It wanted you to be.

All who love must be discrete.
I don't regret anything at all!
Any heart which truly loves
cannot withdraw its passion!

So kind is Love to those who love!
Love conquers all!!

I liked the last that you translated from French the best of the three.

I think it is wonderful that you can still use the language after all these years, and knowing you, I am sure it is perfect or near perfect.

I came in search of Bridge Of Sighs and cannot seem to find it. Could you have named it something else?

While I am here I am going to look around some more.

Love,
Lesa
