Beneath the Willow

Folder:
Dark Poems

Scattered voices make one sound

Lost in flashing lights; never found.

Hide beneath the weeping willow

And never falter step.

Chaotic tension in the air,

So hard to take a breath.

Many searching, searching far.

But none think to look for you there

Beneath the willow.

Tears fall and drop in the rain,

Numbness makes you cold.

Eyes all glowing in the flames,

Forget all you’ve been told.

You fall with this moment,

In this tragic night you shall remain.

Your death, life lost…..

And smoke is in the breeze.

The salt liquid falls,

Stings your cheeks.

Many searching, searching far.

But none think to look for you there

Beneath the willow.

Even in darkness, there is light! I thought this poem was beautifully written...and no, I'm not scared at all.
