Haiku is a traditional form of Japanese poetry and also greatly specific. Some of the haiku requirements are that it has some relevance to nature, emotion and totals 17 syllables on three lines in the format of 5-7-5. That is 5 syllables on the first line, 7 on the second and 5 on the final and third line. It was originally known as hokku a derivation of Haikai by Japanese Poet Bashô.
