expansion

i am not all i have. i also have my own absence, the silence from outer space, and closed eyes, when eyes see they can close. besides what i am there is the possibility of not being me, which allows me certain peace, a subtle wrap-up for my thoughts, breaks of half-light under intense light or darkness. not being me makes room, puts me in contact with codes other, undecipherable, though beautifully articulated under my alienated gaze.
all i fail to be makes me imortal, endless, perennial, real.

You say so much with so little!

Another great economical poem. Introspective and true. My favourite phrase is "not being me makes room, puts me in contact with codes other, undecipherable, though beautifully articulated under my alienated gaze." Pure poetry!

thank you

very much for your comment
this thing of found poems is so interesting - I had a feeling there was such a thing but it never occured to me it had already been duly identified and described. I 'm curious about life in Kenya. if you have time, maybe we could arrange to exchange views. I live in Brazil, btw.

Exchanging views!

I would love to swap stories and views about life in our respective countries! We can chat next time we are both online or we can communicate via messages...or both :-) And yes, I have learned a lot about found poetry in the past two months as I have been writing my book. Found poetry is a fascinating poetic art form! I highly recommend it :-)
