I realized today

While looking back

Seeing the girl who was once me

Scribbling through notebooks

And pages

That I had forgotten how to write.

I wonder if I ever knew at all.

Pages and pages

Of untalented words

Wanting so bad

For “Talentless” to be a word

That would fit much more nicely.



Sloppy, sloppy Stephanie

Sitting on my doorstep

Wondering why I’ll never

Let myself in.

The empty metaphors

And the awkward statements

Concise sentences

Make my sick.

I decided today

That this

This

Would be the moment

Where I’d realize it’s time

To Quit.
