When I think of moments that took me;
It is not the cheer of a wanting crowd,
It is in a laugh.
The sun skews your vision
And yet you don't need it,
For you're aching from something
They said or did
And you are peaking in a moment.
You are, in a single breath,
So incredibly finite;
You exist in those few seconds,
Before the narrowed you
Is spread again to times past and present.
And yet we don't aspire for these specific times
Or plan for them in advance.
They are a neat reminder of a life
That you often forget you lead,
Instead of being dragged along
With heels dug in
Trying to slow it down.
