Her: Girl, you know 5 years is a long time

Don’t you think you’re missing out



Me:  Are you sincerely concerned for my happiness

Or are you jealously throwing doubts



Her: I just want you to consider things

You know so you’ll be able to figure them out



Me: Well nothing’s always good with any relationship

But our love’s real and that’s no doubt



Her: Well do you think ya’ll think every thing’s so great

Because you can only see each other for 3 days



Me: Long distance is hard and it’s hard being apart,

But sacrifices is what love’s about



Her: You know things will be different when ya’ll are really together

You’ll be all in each other’s space and it won’t be cute



Me: Well it’s okay, because we can’t wait for that to finally happen

When the time comes we’ll deal with it if it’s true



Her: Well, since you’re all educated you’ll need someone to understand

Someone with a professional degree requires an equally degreed man



Me: Well I don’t doubt that one day my man’s dreams will pan out

If that means school that’s fine if not that’s not what I’m only about



Her: Well girl you better than me because I know he has issues

I don’t think I could handle all that stuff he going through



Me: Well the fact is he’s my best friend and I’ll always have his back

His issues are bigger than me and I realize that

You’re not with us so I guess you would have doubts

If something comes up, I’ll decide when and if I need to get out

So, let me be better than you for now and if that time comes I’ll let you know

But we’ve been okay for 5 years; I think we’re kinda on a roll.
