"Date By the Sea"

We sit in front of a movie screen,

not knowing what’s to happen.

We sit next to each other,

and you drop your napkin.

I reach down to pick it up,

you say, “Thank you,” with a smile.

I say, “You’re welcome,” back to you,

then it’s silent for a while.

We walk out of the movies,

it’s a cold crisp night.

I put my jacket around you,

under a shining street light.

We head out to dinner,

at a restaurant by the sea.

You sit across the table,

from, yours truly, “Me.”

We start a conversation,

how it’s such a beautiful night.

We then walk on the beach,

with the stars shining bright.

You hear the water sway,

and you give a soothing sigh.

We sit in the sand,

and just look into the sky.

You put your head on my chest,

as we just lay there in the sand.

And up on the pier,

we hear an old 50’s band.

We lay and hum along,

and we look in each others eyes.

You hold my hand and kiss me,

under the starry skies.

This was the story,

of our date by the sea.

When a new tale came into my life,

the tale of you and me.

The other two poems that I critiqued had some serious advice on how to take your already good writing and make it even better, but for this one, although the rythem seams a bit ameture... all that I can realy say is... Wow! This was an absolutely beautiful poem, I could very vividly picture this date with a lovely lady and the start of what could be a beautiful relationship. Very romantic and a story I haven't heard in too long (which naturaly reminded me of a feeling I haven't felt in too long.) Thank you and a very nice piece.
