Then Came You

It's funny, you know

The way love works

Everything's normal

Life wasn't anything special

But then came you

Then came you

With your smile that blinded the sun

With your sarcasm that fooled riddlers of old

Words can't describe you

Except perhaps your name

But even your name does not contain

The wonder that is you

Life became special

But then came you

Then came you

With the realization that you were the sun

With knowing that I was a stone

The sun and stone can never meet

They live too far apart

For a short time your light shines on me

But then you must depart

Life lost hope

But then came you

Then came you

With the gift of loving again

With the treasure of knowing you

Author's Notes/Comments:

It was written better in my head, but this was something I wanted to write while I was still thinking about it.
