Water, The Water

"It may soothe" said

A crocus-soldier

"To think of me

When you're near the water...

It's throughout all of me."

Iriquois snow

Falling over the water

As the wheel of fortune

Crushes old gods

And embraces the children.

Addicted, you know,

We may soon laugh

At the bridges that burned

Even as we watch each other

In the water.

California oranges

Manana burdens

Awake to running water

Shuffle into the bathroom

Uncork silence

Clothes like water

So soon fall away

And skin as well

Underground, bones,

Listening to rain on the grave
