Letters To The Sea

Letters To The Sea

"I am alone in this world," Thought a girl one day.

It wasn't uncommon for her to think this, because she was alone.

Alone on an uncharted island in the sea.

She looked up to the sky and it seemed to say,

"Good things come to those who wait."

And in that instant, her gaze shifts to the vast empty sea,

a glimmer catches the girl's stormy grey stare.

As it got closer it became clear

It was a glass bottle.

And in it?

Was a letter

It was adressed to the sea

I am alone in this world. There is no one but me.

Just the vast empty sea that surounds my small spot of sand.

So I write to you.

Thou who I see everyday.

To hold onto what little remains of my sanity.

Your captive,

Clavis

Clavis,

It is not so! You are not alone,

nor I as I now realize.

There is someone besides me,

in this seemingly endless world.

Awaiting your responce,

Selia

Dearest Seilia,

Oh wonderous muse!

If thou art an apparition of the mind,

keep writting anyways.

I have longed for someone to talk with.

Tell me about yourself for starters if ye will.

Clavis

Dreamer Clavis,

I assure you I am not a figment of your mind,

as much as you think it to be.

For starters:

I do no remeber my given name,

so I've settled on Selia for it sounds similar to what it was,

at least I think. I do not know anymore,

it has been far too long.

I think I am 16 or near there,

once more, I cannot recall.

I love music. That I am sure of.

Here however,

listening to the sounds of the waves will have to suffice.

What about you?

Your muse singer Selia

Selia

I................

And so began the tryst that spanned months.

Each letter took a day's time to reach the other shore

With each letter

they grew closer

They yearned for the day when we could meet.

They suggested we do just that.

The current path that carried those countless letters

was forever constant.

They would send whatever was needed without fail.

My dearest summer song,

I have build a boat my love! Soon we shall be free.

The next time you hear from me,

we will be standing face to face.

Driffting to you,

Clavis

But that day there was a storm.

The waves were fierce and unrelenting.

When it was over, the sea was clear.

The beach swept smooth by the waves.

There was a boat. It was flipped on it's side,

but showed no wreakage.

A glimmer caught Seila's eyes.

It was

a glass bottle

The one that had endured countless voyages

now lay shattered in the sand

Ans so she too sank to the ground broken.

The sea

that had given her the gift of the companion

as quickly as he had come

the sea took him away

But Clavis had left Selia a number of gifts

ones that even the mightly sea cound not take away

the memories they shared

the feelings they held

and one last thing.

a boat.

"We are indeed free now Clavis..."
