Aimless footsteps reluctantly shuffle forward

Plodding; lift plop, lift plop

Legs carry a languid carcass of chalky bones

Draped in leathery canvas, concave and drooping

Hunger and humdrum beckon it onward

Bending; creak crack, creak crack

Frail arms and fingers strain against the inexorable wheel

Frantically grasping for the tick, flailing for the tock

Still unhindered; tick tock, tick.. Gong!

Shoulders slack, head down

Thoughts, hopes, dreams

Swimming, sinking, drowning

Nodding; huff sigh, puff sigh

A toothy grimace long bereft of bliss or flair

Perfectly exact and devoid of emotion

Vapidly; Grin nod, grin nod

Sullen eyes, downcast and darting

The great betrayers of one's inner self

Avoiding; left right down, left right down... closed
