In the furthest reaches of desolate desert
I see your familiar shape in mounds of sand
I cannot escape you
In the squealing squaler of cities and highways
I feel your pull at every turn
And shudder of the wheel
To forget you is futile
Only in nightmare, am I claimed by abhorrent respite
A dull and vacant void, carved out by an awful notion
I have escaped you
After a full day's climb, surrounded by majestic peaks
I, like a curious mountain stream search every crack
Always for you
As the icy stream is swallowed by a pristine lake
Further along the slope
So am I inevitably consumed by you
