You have committed an act of disrespect once again, when will you learn?

And stop insulting me saying how I need a perm.

Saying that it’s my hair that needs to be relaxed.

Optimum, Soft & Free, Dark & Lovely, Precise in a 2-pack.

Not feeding into what you think is right,

Cause I believe my natural "fro" is tight.

Why should I lace my beautiful precious covering that God put on my scalp,

with a horrible man made chemical, just to thin and straighten it out.

Straightened to imitate something that I know I am not.

My hair is already "soft and beautiful"; lets establish this from the top.

See I come from a long line of Kings and Queens, from this land to that land,

From the Holy Land to the Mother Land.

Hair shades from the blackest, black coal,

to the lightest brown that dances with the sunlight and appear to be gold.

Textures from tough, strong, tight kinky as wool from a lamb,

to curly thick, thin, soft, rough, silky, can you understand?

I am not trying to fit into you category of what you think is most popular or civilized,

Just let me be me, do my thang and live my life.

With my Afro, Afro puffs,

Cornrows, twist, braids, locks and such.

So what I may never bless the cover of "Cosmo" or be featured in "Newsweek" cause I choose to represent.
