I put on the TV tonight to watch the local news
They reported on a story which if I had to choose
Would make it my selection as the story of the year
If you want to hear about it, friends, lend me your ear
As all today's top stories, they were recapping
The one I had to hear about concerns a kidnapping
At a local daycare center, yes, you heard that right
Happened in the afternoon, causing such a fright
Everyone was frantic, somebody was taken?
But, as it turns out, everyone was mistaken
No need to get emotional, no reason to choke up
The kidnapping at the daycare center? Eventually, he woke up
