I'm out of work, I need a job

I do not want to steal or rob

I work in sales, a software seller

Don't raise my voice, I'm not a yeller

But I know how to get the job done

A salesman who's second to none

Saw a job opening online, you see

It fit my background perfectly 

A start up place that makes software

I knew that I'd be happy there

I went there for an interview

But they said 'We can't hire you

We'll tell you why, you can confirm 

Checked your references, you are not firm'

I said 'What do you mean, I'm not firm?'

They said 'We're looking for someone long-terrm

We're looking to grow, become large

We need a person who's in charge!

While your background is impressive

We feel you're not very aggressive'

I told you I'm a quiet guy

But I don't believe them, why should I?

They're basically telling me

I'm too soft to work at their company

Aren't they a software firm?

Call their customers, they'll confirm

At my manner, they may have scoffed

But when it comes to selling siftware

They won't find no one better nowhere

I stand firm, I do sell soft!
