A CROSS FOR DOROTHEA

Almost unnoticed

At highway speeds

Lies a tiny white cross

By the side of the road

Tilted in the shade

Of a giant oak

"Dorothea" it reads

"Dorothea, Dorothea"

I mutter to myself

Half in prayer

Wish I knew her

Author's Notes/Comments:

A little existential piece.
