I am standing in the sunlight
but then someone tries to change the world
and I end up in the war again.
So look what they did to me,
not even winter with ice biting my skin,
not even dark and I’m stumbling to find my way.
I keep my dreams awake every night
so they won’t handcuff me to the cobweb corners.
I thought I found a new release
but it’s the drug that spikes my brain
and I drive into walls again.
So look what they did to me,
not even weighed down like you and I’m losing,
not even forever and I’m drowning in battles.
This ceiling’s soaked in shadow
and sometimes the shadow wins.
