Like a cast of death,
ever widening in its breadth,
a spread of cloud turns black the sky
to blot the sun while passing by
And the mighty voice of thunder speaks its name!
A sudden deluge of rain
gives vent to lightning's flame,
and, pushed by wind midst nature's frown,
the stored up ocean crashes down .
It lands on a parched, thirsty earth
which drinks it up in great swallows
giving joy and birth
to a world of chlorphyll mirth.
Then, into the stream 'neath the ground
and back to the sea
where the magnet of a yellow sun
draws it up
in jubilee!
