Widow's Peak

Justify for me again,

the reasons you came up with

In your head

As to why I wait for you,

I no longer understand

As to why you keep me waiting,

Can you fill me in?

Standing at my widow's peak,

Waiting for your ship to come in

Staring, longingly

Into the distance

Of the clouded sea

Taking in a breath of salty flavored tears

Wondering how you could

Have made me wait so many years

Hearing foot steps below

I flee to the stairs

Hurriedly, I run to jump into

Your outstretched arms

Finally you have come back to me,

From the mysterious trip

In which you left so long ago

But I will always wonder why --

Why you had to leave indefinitely
